Dear High Achiever,

Let’s take a breath for a moment:

You’re halfway through 2025.

How does that land?

For many of the executives I coach, this isn’t just another calendar milestone. It’s a mirror.

And what I hear most often right now is:

“I haven’t done enough.”

“I’ve done a lot, but I’m not sure it’s aligned anymore.”

“My goals shifted. So did I.”

Here’s what I want you to know:

You don’t need to pivot everything. But you do need to pause on purpose.

Because success doesn’t come from pushing through to December with your head down. It comes from resetting with intention so you can realign, reimagine, and re-enter the second half with clarity.

This is your midyear moment.

Let’s make it count.

💡 Why Senior Leaders Need a Midyear Reset

Most people treat midyear as a rush to catch up.

But senior leaders thrive when they step back, reassess the horizon, and reset with precision.

Think of it as a performance review for your future self, before Q3 gets away from you.

Midyear resets help you:

Reflect on progress – Acknowledge wins, spot blind spots, and reset expectations

Adjust goals – Make sure what you’re aiming for still matters and still fits

Boost engagement – Reconnect to what energizes you, not just what needs doing

Support growth – Create space for development and evolution

Lead from alignment – Not just achievement, but purpose

This isn’t indulgent. It’s how aligned leaders design the second half of their year with clarity, courage, and control.

🔁 The 6-Part Reset Framework for Senior Leaders

This isn’t a fluffy reflection exercise. It’s operational clarity for your mindset, your role, and your strategic direction.

1. Review Your Reality.

  • What goals have shifted, on paper or in your gut?

  • What feedback have you been resisting or craving?

  • Where has your calendar drifted away from your values?

2. Reclaim Your Edge.

  • What part of your leadership have you sidelined?

  • What energizes you but hasn’t had space lately?

  • Where are you playing small out of habit or humility?

3. Redefine Success.

  • What would success look like and feel like by December 31st?

  • What would make you proud—not just for the business, but for yourself?

  • What outcome would signal that you’ve led with alignment?

4. Rework Your Commitments.

  • What needs to be renegotiated, delayed, delegated, or removed?

  • Where are you saying yes out of guilt or habit?

  • What boundaries will protect your focus this quarter?

5. Refresh Your Strategic Story.

  • Is your LinkedIn showing where you’re going or just where you’ve been?

  • Do your team and stakeholders understand the value you bring now?

  • What part of your story needs to evolve?

6. Re-anchor Your Why.

  • What is the deeper vision behind your leadership today?

  • Who are you here to impact in this next season?

This is how senior leaders stop drifting and start making decisions from a place of alignment and clarity.

🎯 Your Q3 Reset Challenge

Set aside one focused hour this week. Bring your notebook, a quiet space, and your full attention.

Part 1: Stop, Start, Stretch

🛑 Stop: What am I no longer available for in Q3?

Start: What habits or boundaries will support clarity and traction?

🚀 Stretch: What bold move will I pursue, even if it makes me uncomfortable?

Part 2: Vision Prompting

  1. How do I want to feel about my leadership on December 31, 2025?

  2. What am I leading toward—not just away from?

  3. What version of me is required to bring that vision to life?

Part 3: Write Your One-Line Q3 Intention

Craft a sentence that captures how you want to lead in the next 90 days. Example: “I lead with clarity and create space for strategy, not just output.”

Place it somewhere visible. Let it guide your choices this quarter.

🧠 The Bottom Line

Senior leadership isn’t about surviving the next quarter. It’s about designing it with purpose.

If you’re feeling stretched, scattered, or unclear, this isn’t a sign of weakness. It’s a sign that something inside you is ready to evolve.

You don’t need to reinvent yourself. You just need to return to the leader you’re becoming.

To your second half,

Melissa
